Oh No.

I’ve posted a fair share of wood chipper stories on this site, but this one is pretty awful.

Jeffery Bourgeois and his two brothers were helping their father clear brush for his tree removal service on Tuesday when the worst possible thing happened.  Jeffery was pulled into the wood chipper.

Jeffery was six.

Jeffery had picked up a branch while his dad’s back was turned and went to put it in the massive wood chipping machine when his arm was caught in the device and he was pulled into it. 911 was called to the scene but Jeffery could not be saved from his massive injuries.

(peet: read the hamster story, it will make you feel better)

WoodChipper 1 – Man 0

It doesn’t seem that long ago I posted a story about a man losing out to a woodchipper, but here we are again.

In Nevada City, CA a man who was helping clear branches, brush and debris from a home is dead after getting sucked “head first” into a full size commercial wood chipper.

The man, 50 year old Matin Lara, was part of a professional landscaping crew, became trapped in some rope that was tangled with the branches as they were thrown into the machine.  The reports are that the rope wrapped around the man’s neck and it actually decapitated him and while he did go in head first, he apparently never actually went through the chipper.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Death By Wood Chipper

editor’s note: My apologies in the delay in posting this story, but it still deserves it’s place here.

Richard A Risinger of ALton, Illinois was working a tree trimming site last week when the most awful thing happened.

He was feeding limbs into the massive wood chipper when he clothing got caught in the device.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.  Very dead.
