Tuesday, down in the US Virgin Islands a woman was pulled over for a routine traffic stop that ended up being anything but that.
When the police was asking the St. Croix woman for her ID, the officer heard what he thought was a baby crying. But he didn’t see a baby in the car, not in the front passenger seat, not in the back seat. When he inquired as to where the sound was coming from, the woman held up her purse, unzipped it and removed a week old newborn. Her own child that she’d given birth to the week prior, and claimed to the officer she was on her way to the doctor’s office for an appointment.
The woman may face charges, and the baby was taken to the hospital where it was determined it hadn’t received any prenatal care.
